Building Financial Literacy, One Step at a Time

We started Insectex Bug because too many people felt lost when trying to understand investing. Not anymore. Since 2021, we've helped hundreds of Canadians move from confusion to confidence through clear, practical education that actually makes sense.

Why We Exist

Back in early 2021, we noticed something frustrating. People wanted to learn about investing, but everything out there was either too complicated or too simplified. Financial jargon everywhere. Or worse, those get-rich-quick schemes that promise the moon.

So we decided to build something different. A place where real people could learn at their own pace without feeling stupid for asking basic questions. Where the focus was on understanding fundamentals instead of chasing trends.

Our first workshop had twelve participants in a community center in Sarnia. Now we work with learners across Ontario and beyond, but the mission stays the same: help people make informed decisions about their money.

How We Actually Teach

Learning about investing shouldn't feel like decoding a secret language. We break it down into manageable pieces that build on each other.

Start Where You Are

No pretending everyone's at the same level. We assess what you already know and build from there. Some folks need to start with budgeting basics, others jump straight into portfolio theory.

Learn by Doing

Theory matters, but practice sticks. You'll work through real scenarios, analyze actual market data, and make decisions in a safe environment where mistakes become lessons.

Ask Anything

The only bad question is the one you don't ask. Our sessions are conversational. If something doesn't make sense, we explain it differently until it clicks.

Our Journey So Far

We've learned a lot since launching. Here's how we've grown alongside our community.

2021

The Beginning

Launched with a simple workshop series on investment basics. Twelve participants, one whiteboard, lots of questions. We knew we were onto something when people started bringing their friends.

Expanding Topics

Added more specialized courses after listening to what people actually wanted to learn. Tax-efficient investing. Retirement planning strategies. Understanding market cycles. Each one designed based on real requests from real learners.

Building Community

Created ongoing support systems beyond single courses. Monthly discussion groups where graduates could share experiences, ask follow-up questions, and learn from each other's journeys.

Looking Ahead

Currently developing flexible learning formats for people with different schedules and learning styles. Weekend intensives, evening series, self-paced modules with instructor support. Whatever helps you actually finish what you start.
